The Technical Sales Manager (TSM) reports to the Technical Sales Manager Lead (TSML) and is responsible for maximizing the sale of pressure, temperature, level, flow and force measurement instrumentation, within the assigned market of the Process Instrumentation (PI) division.  This role manages sales to end users, OEMs’, National Integrators and where needed, and utilizes distribution and representative networks to grow sales.

Technical Sales Manager I


  • Meets or exceeds annual sales key performance indicators (KPIs) as established with the Vice President of Process Instrumentation (PI) Sales in alignment with the company business plan
  • Augments/alters distribution as necessary, as result of analysis to achieve optimum coverage with prior approval of sales Vice Presidents (VPs)
  • Establishes and conducts joint calls on target accounts with Sales Application Specialists (SAS) and other team members
  • Files monthly sales report, advance itinerary, and expense reports on a weekly basis
  • Maintains CRM pipeline and opportunities on frequent basis 
  • Participates in National, Regional, and local trade shows
  • Maintains flow of business information between sales VPs,  Marketing, Inside Sales Departments and the US corporate sales leadership


  • 5+ years industrial/technical experience in sales/marketing/engineering
  • Ability to travel extensively, strong interpersonal skills, and proven success in territory management role
  • Computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and contact management or CRM software)
  • Excellent communication, writing, listening and presentation skills
  • Sales knowledge, direct and through distribution
  • Negotiation skills, attention to detail, and basic understanding of customer contracts
